Academics

Religion

Students at Little Flower receive daily instruction in the teachings of the Catholic Church.  Each Friday and on Holy Days of Obligation students attend Mass.  Classes are assigned preparation responsibilities for reading, selecting music, and ushering.  Catholic students in grade two prepare for the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist.  Students in grades seven and eight prepare for the sacrament of Confirmation in alternate years.

The Core Curriculum

Students in kindergarten through grade four receive instruction in self-contained classrooms.  In grade five students remain in the homeroom class for all subjects except social science.  Students in grades six through eight rotate to three different teachers for instruction in the core areas.

 Arts

The arts are taught within the regular curriculum and in school clubs.

Discipline with Purpose (DWP)

At Little Flower we believe that our discipline should be rooted in our faith and common sense.  The fifteen skills that are taught through DWP are skills that our students will use throughout their lives.

Media

Little Flower has a quaint library with a continuously growing collection.   Students are required to participate in the Accelerated Reading Program which checks comprehension and awards points.

Technology

Students are provided scheduled opportunities to work in the lab on keyboarding skills, academic skills, and special projects.
