Day at Stankey Field

Students, parents, and parishioners had a great time at a South Alabama baseball game on Little Flower Day. Father John threw out the first pitch and the students got to be on the field for the National Anthem. It was a beautiful day and a real exciting event. I know the kids will remember this for a long time.

Spring Cleaning of the Habitat

Mobile Museum of Art brings Prestigious Artist to Little Flower
Board Member, Jackie Pierre contacted Mr. McPhail at the Mobile Museum of Art, hoping to bring more art into our school.  He immediatley responded with an offer of Mr Ibiyinka Alao a renowned artist from Nigeria.  Mr. Alao is not only talented, he is also philathropic.  The program was offered to our students at no cost to us. 

Mr Alao  is a first place winner of the prestigious United Nations International Art Competition.  His work comes from a traditional African perspective.  He travels the world to share his gifts with children and adults.

Mr. Alao made a presentation to the entire school followed by student workshops in grades 3, 4, and 5.  He made a lasting impression on our students.

6th Grade Class Starts Golf Lessons

The sixth grade class at Little Flower began golf classes this week. Lead by Michael Brisbane, Director of Instruction at Azalea City Golf Course, the class will the fundamentals of golf. This is the third year that MIchael has taught our sixth grade. The students sure seem to enjoy the experience. We would like to thank Mr. McCabe and the volunteer drivers for also making this special class activity possible.
